Dave Matthews and Trey Anastasio with the Baobab Orchestra

I haven't really gotten into the whole YouTube craze yet, but I decided to check it out today and watched a video of Dave Matthews and Trey Anastasio in Senegal playing with the Baobab Orchestra, a famous Senegalese group. I found it interesting and felt like sharing. Here is the link...

Pictures : Sama Keur

It has been a while since I have shown you my home. One of the most important things this past year has been to transform my room/house into a home. Slowly, it is becoming one...I am a little jealous of the next volunteer who will get it.

If you are wondering about the material on my new bench/sofa, well, so am I. It was supposed to be blue fabric, but instead, the guys down the street who made it all for me decided to suprise me and go for the sorority girl pajama pants pattern. While I could have put up a fight, it really just wasn't worth dealing with it. Fortunatly, it has pink in it, which when I left the States was pretty much the new blue. Probably now, the new blue is lime green, so fortunatly I am covered with that too.

Welcome to my home...

Pictures : Chicken Slaughtering

So I came home one Sunday afternoon to my brother slaughtering chickens so they could be cleaned and sold. While I had never slaughtered an animal before, my time here is partially about the cultural experience, so after being talked into it by my brother, I assisted. Needless to say, I had to turn it into a photo op.

Here are pictures from President's Day Weekend's West African Invitational Softball Tournament, better known as WAIST. For details of the weekend, you can read a previous post.

Pictures : Garden / English Class

A lot of you have been asking how the garden is doing, and so I wanted to provide you with some updated photos. They are pretty much self explanatory. Also in the batch are a couple of pictures from my english class. I had a few more, but they accidently got destroyed due to a virus on one, if not all the computers at the cyber cafe.

Pictures : Softball Weekend Long Ago

Due to my lack of updating this post in awhile, here are some pictures back from the Flaming Ace's softball season. I think they are from the playoff weekend, but I am not sure. The first few are while we were at the field, with the rest being a cookout at Liberte VI. If you think you noticed peach fuzz, you probably did, but it disappeared soon after the photos were taken.
